. roast beast (roast beef) mr. potato head pieces.
. goblin fingers (pickles)
. monster pupils (olives)
. zombie teeth (corn)
. spooky eye balls (mashed potatoes and gravy)
. graveyard caramel filled brownies and orange sherbet/vanilla ice cream (tombstones are the backs of domino's and drawn on with a dry erase marker).
. $ store skeletons i made into a chandelier.
. yarn spiderweb divider.
. glow in the dark bugs and snakes.
. dead roses i dried out that my husband bought me a few weeks ago.
thank goodness this all came together. i didn't even have it all figured out the day we ate- i just kind of through it together as i went, i hadn't been to the store in a long time and so i tried to come up with things i already had in the house. ha ha!
pumpkin quesadilla: flour tortillas and cheddar cheese.
eyeball snack: bananas and chocolate chips.
. brain spaghetti bake.
. skewered eyeball meatballs.
. french bread & salad.
. fresh lime freeze (recipe on main page)- drawn with a dry erase marker.
. jello cylinders- filled with bugs and skeletons.
. yarn spiderweb "table cloth"- i thought of this a few months ago. this worked out really well and was pretty easy.
start by stretching straight pieces across your table into an asterisk * shape. then start from the center out. tie a knot in the center to keep the center together. and then start from the middle out and wrap around and tie of pieces as you go. adjust it as you need to to keep it pulled tight.
. bat origami i made into napkins HERE.
i was not feeling well the night of this dinner. i was recovering from a monster migraine so i didn't get all what i wanted done.
i came up with these just walking through the bread section at the grocery store. this is how most all my ideas bump into my head- out of no where and all a sudden.
super pleased with these!
spooky pancakes attempt 2:
. fill empty mustard/ketchup bottle about 1/3- 1/2 way full with pancake mix dyed with food coloring- i mixed it in a separate bowl with a little extra milk so it wouldn't clog.
. draw 3 bulls eye circles and start from the middle working out with a toothpick to form your web.
below you can read about my first idea with pancakes.
i highly recommend my 2nd attempt- they taste exactly like regular pancakes.
i am THRILLED they worked out so well :)
*you can find the yummy pancake recipe in the list of foods on the main page.
spooky pancakes attempt 1:
*empty ketchup mustard squeeze bottles filled with jam and chocolate syrup.
*move quick! squeeze 3 bulls eye circles onto pancake and take a toothpick from the center out to form your web.
*make sure you wipe down you griddle clean with a paper towel/napkin before each new batch... it gets a little messy.
*my kids preferred the chocolate ones.
